WYSIWYG

The Apostle Paul wrote (II Corinthians 4:1,2), "Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."

A common marketing technique is "bait and switch" -- a store will advertise a bargain as "bait" to get you into the shop, but when you get there they've made a "switch", and what they offer is completely different. We won't "bait and switch" -- we believe in WYSIWYG -- What You See Is What You Get.

WYSIWYG -- OUR BELIEFS. Some of the things we believe are not popular in today's society, but we do not try to hide these things. We do not believe in evolution. We believe that every person is a sinner, and will answer to God one day, and we believe in hell. We believe that drunkenness, pornography, any sexual activity outside of marriage (including homosexuality), swearing, and rebellion against legitimate authorities are all sin. We believe that God hates divorce. We believe that we should not participate in ecumenical activities involving those who do not hold the "faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3).

WYSIWYG -- COMMITMENT. We do not believe in pressuring anyone to make any commitments to the ministry of the church. However, we do teach that "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" (Deuteronomy 6:5). As Christians learn to love God, their commitment to Him grows, and we encourage this.

WYSIWYG -- ENTERTAINMENT. In general, we will not use entertainment of one kind or another simply to attract people to a church activity. If we hold a church activity which is a mixture of recreation and religious activity, we will make sure that our invitations do not minimize the religious content. We will not lead you to think you are getting entertainment and then try "sneak in religion."

WYSIWYG -- MUSIC. We will not use one kind of music to attract teens to teen activities and another kind of music in our services.

WYSIWYG -- ADVERTISEMENTS. We will not use advertisements or leaflets which imply that we are anything different from what we are -- a church which believes the entire Bible to be true. We will do our best to avoid any misleading or confusing statements.
