MORAL ETHICS

Moral failure is probably the most damaging problem in churches today. We use the following safeguards to protect the ministry and reputation of the church.

  • The minister will not counsel with a woman alone. Any counselling with a woman will be done in the presence of another trusted person -- the minister's wife, the woman's husband or father, or some other person.

  • Any ministry which involves young children will always include at least two adults. In an emergency, if only one adult is able to be present, the ministry will be cancelled.

  • Any ministry which involves young or teen girls will have at least one adult woman present.

  • Any ministry which involves young boys will have at least one adult woman present.

The only exception to these policies will be if each child present is accompanied by a parent -- for example, there need not be a woman present for a ministry which involves young boys if the boys are all accompanied by their fathers, as in a father-son activity.
